2018 Commodore’s Cup Sunday Best Party of the Year

The executive were thrilled with the turnout this year for the Commodore's Cup. There were 17 boats racing and 112 people registered for dinner that was fabulous thanks to Fergies. The racers had perfect winds and it was sunny and warm.
Racing was hotly contested with Al Sullivan and his Hobie emerging as this year's winner with Calum MacKellar taking 2nd and the Y Flyer team of Richard and Colin King placing 3rd. Thanks to PRO Bill Downes for running the races, Race Captain Colin King for the unique sailboat trophies he created and Past Commodore Ed Davis for presenting the awards. Special thanks to piper Joyce Reimer who played a wonderful selection of music to begin the presentations.
After the racing awards Commodore Denis Neuman honoured attending Life Members Al Morgan and Derek Street. Life Members have given years of service to the club and participated well beyond normal volunteer expectations and are one of the reasons BLSC is the beautiful and friendly club it is today. Also recognized were past Commodores and all the present and past executive who have contributed to keeping the club running over the years. Denis encourages all members to consider contributing to the club's continued success in 2019 by volunteering for the several open executive positions this fall. Please speak to any member of the current exec to learn more.
