Commodore’s Cup 24th August 2016

The 2016 Commodore's Cup was held on a hot sunny windy day, much like most of the summer racing days we have been experiencing this season. The PRO for the racing was fill-in Al Morgan (thanks Al) who ran three races for us. The top two were only one point apart but Calum in his Phantom was the victor with Al Sullivan in the Hobie 14 Turbo taking second. Richard King and Jacob Hone in the Y Flyer were third. Eleven boats in all were in the competition. For the full results see this link.
The racing was followed by the annual (this was the second) Pig Roast which is always well received by the club members, racers or not, as a good crowd turned up. Thanks Commodore Ed for organizing it, and for presenting the Cup to Calum. Commodore Ed noted that the cup is an old one - dating back to the days when the club was known as the Guelph Sailing and Canoe Club.
