|21st Sept 2019 |
The last weekend of summer is here.
There isn't much time or ramp left in the season so the exec invite you to come out and enjoy the warm temperatures. The racers are going to try and squeeze in one more race this Sunday, if the weather cooperates. Fall arrives on Monday, Sept. 23.
The floor in the clubhouse has been painted this week with a fresh coat of deep grey. Thanks to the volunteers who have been painting this month.
Sept 28 – Club closing work party, 9 am – 1 pm
The season has flown by and now it's time to do some cleanup and preparing for winter. It looks like Mother Nature may share some liquid sunshine but nothing a raincoat can't handle. Please bring work gloves and yard tools. We need a number of members to trim back vegetation so clippers, gas powered weed wackers, rakes, a few wheelbarrows and a chainsaw or two would be most helpful. We also have some roots to cover and holes to fill so shovels and wheelbarrows for those jobs would be appreciated so that the club can reseed those areas. If anyone has a stump grinder, we have a few stumps that need to be ground out. Bruce will lead a dock removal team to pull and stack the docks with the aid of some heavy machinery.
Coffee and treats at 9 am (bring a mug) and for the 1 pm lunch please bring an appetizer, salad or dessert to share to go with the soup and BBQ. To reduce the club's environmental footprint, please bring a plate and cutlery for lunch on closing day.
Mark your calendar for Sunday, October 20 – AGM in Guelph, 2 pm.
