The month of July has flown by and August is off to a great hot long weekend. The club exec are pleased that so many members have been able to come to the club and enjoy the many activities available.
The month of August has much to offer. For example:
Ontario Parks is challenging you to spend the month of August out in nature. Being in nature has a wide range of benefits to our physical and mental health. Spending quality time in nature is an opportunity to connect with your loved ones and Ontario’s beautiful natural environment. And Belwood is beautiful!
Spending time in nature can lower the risk of heart attack by 50 per cent, reduce the risk of mental health challenges and help combat chronic disease.
By accepting the 30×30 challenge, you are committing to a healthy lifestyle in the outdoors!
Also in August every Monday is Casual Cruising at 7 pm, Wednesday is racing at 630 pm and Sunday is racing at 2 pm. The weekend of August 9 to 11 sees the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games bring everything Scottish to Fergus, without the airfare or jet lag. Sunday, August 25 is the annual Commodore's Cup at 2 pm followed by a catered dinner at about 5 pm. Fergies, based in Fergus, is catering the meal which will be Mexican themed. Look for your personal invitation next week. And the last summer holiday long weekend, which sees the Mirrors visit BLSC, starts on August 31. Enjoy another great month at the club! The exec look forward to seeing you soon at BLSC.
