Great Turnout for Coldest Ever Opening Day

Despite the 3 degree temperatures and the wind, there was a great turn out for the Opening Day work party. Thanks to all who came to rake, put the docks in, set the picnic tables out, cut up the wood from the trees that have been felled, and generally cleaned the place up. There is still chipping to do on several huge brush piles so we're not done yet. We need the place looking neat for the Open House and Boat Sale next Saturday.
There was lots of food - burgers, hot dogs, soup, chili, stew, salads and desserts. Thanks to everyone who contributed and to Past Commodore Ed for freezing while barbecuing.
Calum was again first on the lake, see the gallery of pictures for shots of him in his Phantom.
The CPR and AED session was attended by a good number of people including some children, and Johanna demonstrated how an AED works and the precautions to be taken when using one. Our new AED was on display and will be kept on a shelf in the clubhouse. During racing the PRO of the day will take it to the race desk in case of emergency. It will not be taken out in a boat as it is not waterproof, will sink, and because of the danger of electrocution.
