The weather was scorching hot but the lake breeze was cool as the club celebrated Canada Day with racing, food, friends, family and fireworks.
Steve at BBQ
Members Enjoy BBQ
A full house enjoyed Social Captain Steve's Canadian music and BBQ skills as he cooked on what had to be the hottest day of the year. Special thanks to Jim Carroll who ran the races in gusty conditions that saw a racing mark sink and a few spectacular capsizes. Thanks also to Joyce Reimer for the wonderful bagpipe music including O Canada and to Bob Somek who assembled the club's new outdoor games set and got the fire bowl lit and ready for the giant S'more roast that preceded the fireworks.
BLSC members had the best seats in the county to watch the many cottagers' fireworks displays before and after the town of Fergus' big show at 10 pm. It was a spectacular end to a great day.
