The club was delighted to have all 3 of its Life Members visiting last week. Derek Street, George Bowman and Al Morgan are Life Members in recognition of the substantial contributions they have made over many years to the BLSC. The club would not be where it is today without the efforts of members like Derek, George and Al.

Wellington Cup has been moved to July 29 so there is racing this Sunday at the club and no club racing Sunday July 29.

The club executive are delighted to see many young families with children and members and their grandchildren at the club this year. The sandbox has been cleaned and new sand added and the climbing structure is getting new swings. The baby swing is already installed and the teeter totter is getting new seats. A variety of fun games are in the club house including ladder toss and frisbees. The back beach provides a sheltered area to play and splash in the water.

July 29 is the next social event at the club and it's a family friendly hot dog and corn roast after Sunday afternoon racing - so about 5 pm. It's Super Sunday Salad so members are asked to come with their favourite salad to add to the corn and hot dogs. So bring your coleslaw, potato salad, tabouli, veggie tray, Greek, Caesar, bean, macaroni or fruit salad and join in a fun meal by the water. We will need a few volunteers to cook the provided hot dogs and corn as Social Captain Steve is on holidays. If you are willing to help please reply to this email.

Mark your calendars for August 12 - Tartan Day with Celtic music and BBQ after racing. This celebration ties in with the large Scottish festival happening in Fergus that weekend.https://fergusscottishfestival.com/
August 26 - Commodore's Cup with Fergies from Fergus catering a delicious meal of beef, chicken and veggie kabobs, wild rice, roasted veggies, Greek Salad, flat breads and a dessert platter.

Just a reminder that Casual Cruising Monday is running through the summer, 6:30 pm to sunset, so all members are welcome to come and sail, paddle or chat onshore.

Frances, Publicity Captain
