Don Lomax

We have lost another well regarded member. The racing fraternity especially will remember Don as regularly coming to help the PRO run the races from the "top of the ramp". We will miss his assistance and his good humour. Please feel free to add comments to the one below about your memories of Don.
Don passed away peacefully on March 30, 2016 at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus at the age of 73. Beloved husband and partner for 31 years of Lisa. Lovingly remembered by his daughter Karen Lomax-Harkins (Dave), son Adrien (Samantha) and daughter Jamie. Sadly missed by his grandsons Travis, Blaize and Aren. Cremation has taken place and the family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. If so desired, donations to the Ontario Lung Association or Grand River Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by his family through the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home.

This is from Graham Howe and Gina Holstead: This is my particular reminisce of Dom Lomax. He was a wonderful guy to know. If club members are posting condolences to the BLSC website, I'd appreciate sharing my personal one. "After a particularly unique turtling of our Hobie 14, my wife bought a floater bob for the top of the mast. The instillation guide required us to drill and tap a #20 thread, I think it read. Who's every heard of a #20 thread? Don had. He was a machinist for years he told us. One sunny day we met at the club and Don twisted a #20 thread in our mast, carefully backing out a little after every couple of turns to "clear the thread" as he explained. We thanked him so much for his help, and sent him home with 4 mousse cakes for him and his family."
